How to choose a 3D file format
Start from where the model needs to live, not from a format you already know. A model heading to a 3D printer wants STL for simple single color parts or 3MF when color and units matter, since both are what slicers were built around. A model heading to a website or an AR link wants GLB for a single self contained file or USDZ specifically for iOS Quick Look, since those are what browsers and Apple's AR viewer expect without extra plugins.
A model heading into a game engine or a film pipeline wants FBX, since Unity, Unreal, Maya and 3ds Max all treat it as a first class citizen with support for animation the AI output does not use today but the format is ready for. If you need to hand edit materials or inspect the scene as text, glTF's split JSON structure beats every binary alternative. And if the destination is CAD software or a laser cutter rather than a renderer, DXF's flattened outlines are the honest, correct choice even though the source reconstruction is fully three dimensional.
