Image to FBX Converter Free AI 3D Model Generator for Game Engines

Turn a photo into a 3D model here, then export it to FBX for the tools game and film pipelines already run on. The generator returns a textured GLB and Blender handles the FBX step.

Nota: el generador siempre devuelve una malla GLB con texturas; es el único archivo que produce. Los pasos de esta página explican cómo pasar de ese GLB a FBX.

What is an FBX file?

FBX is a proprietary binary format that Autodesk has owned and maintained since acquiring Kaydara in 2006. Unlike open interchange formats, FBX was purpose built to carry the full production pipeline: meshes, skeletons, skinning weights, blend shapes, cameras, lights and keyframe animation, all in one container. That completeness is why it became the default hand off between DCC tools like Maya and 3ds Max and real time engines like Unity and Unreal.

Because it is closed source, third party tools rely on Autodesk's official FBX SDK to read and write it, which occasionally causes version compatibility gaps between very old and very new files. A model reconstructed from a single photo is a static mesh with baked PBR textures, so once you convert it to FBX the animation and rigging systems the format supports simply are not populated, since there is no motion data to place there.

How to get an FBX from a photo

Upload your photo

Add a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB. A well lit subject with clear edges reconstructs into the cleanest geometry for engine import.

Generate the model

The AI reconstructs the mesh and bakes PBR textures into a GLB, usually finishing in about 60 seconds.

Convert and import

Open the GLB in Blender and export FBX, then drag that FBX into Unity, Unreal or your DCC tool of choice. Materials and UVs carry over without extra setup.

Why export as FBX

Built for engines

Unity and Unreal both treat FBX as a first class import format, with automatic material and mesh mapping that other formats often lack.

One file, full pipeline

Geometry, materials and, when present, rigging and animation all live in a single binary, which simplifies asset management on larger projects.

Industry standard hand off

Studios use FBX to move assets between Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D and engines daily, so your export fits directly into existing production workflows.

Room to extend later

Because FBX supports rigging and animation natively, you can add a skeleton to the static mesh later without switching export formats.

Working with your FBX after download

An FBX from a photo reconstruction imports cleanly into Unity or Unreal with default settings, but check the import scale first, since FBX files can carry different centimeter or meter conventions depending on the exporting tool. In Unity, the Model tab of the import inspector lets you confirm scale factor and mesh compression before the asset lands in your scene. In Unreal, the FBX import dialog offers similar scale and material override options on the way in.

If you want to animate the static mesh later, bring it into Blender or Maya first to add an armature, since the AI output has no skeleton yet even though the format supports one. Blender's FBX importer and exporter are solid for a round trip, though always verify normals and smoothing groups survived the trip, since FBX implementations vary slightly between vendors.

  • Check the import scale factor in Unity or Unreal before placing the asset
  • Add a skeleton in Blender or Maya if you plan to animate the static mesh
  • Verify smoothing groups and normals after import, since FBX exporters vary
  • Use FBX SDK based converter tools if you hit version compatibility errors
  • Keep a backup in GLB if you need a smaller, open format alternative later

Preguntas frecuentes

Todo lo que se pregunta antes de convertir una foto en un modelo 3D.

Yes. You get 3 free generations per hour with no account and no sign up. Upload a photo, download the finished GLB, and export it to FBX in Blender, which costs nothing either.
