Using photo-derived meshes in a real production pipeline

Single-image reconstruction is strongest for props with a dominant visible profile: crates, furniture, rocks, market goods, hand tools. The model infers the unseen back of the object from what similar shapes look like, so symmetric or simple objects come back cleaner than anything with fine mechanical detail on a hidden face. Game engines are forgiving of imperfect topology at typical prop scale, but a raw output still benefits from a decimation pass before it ships: budget somewhere between 2,000 and 15,000 triangles for background clutter, and treat anything with moving parts, characters, or exposed mechanisms as unsuitable for direct use.
